He is currently leading the team managing ICT related activities with international organizations like ITU, APT, JICA e.tc and Government to Government (G-G) and Business to Business (B-B) activities. In his current portfolio, Waqas has implemented several initiatives and projects in partnership with organizations like Ignite, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Virtual University (VU) etc. and non-government entities including Google, Facebook, Twitter, Sand-vine , Net-sweeper, Huawei amongst others. Prior to joining the Ministry, he had been working as web analysis expert from 2013 to 2021 for Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) where he was involved in National Cyber Safety initiatives. From 2013 until 2020 he had worked on various National projects related to IP and Network security. Mr Waqas is a Computer Engineer from Comsats (Islamabad) Pakistan and possesses an advanced degree in Engineering Management from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Pakistan.
