Currently, Mr Asari leading the Digital Government Infrastructure and Digital Government Shared Services Division as the Executive Manager within the Department of Information and Communication Technology which is the lead agency driving the Digital Transformation Agenda in PNG. Apart from my designation as the EM Digital Government and Shared Services I work with the policy and legal team advising and collaborating in Policy and Legal frameworks. So far, I have been involved in and contributed in; • Drafting of the Digital Transformation Bill 2021 (Draft, waiting to be passed by Government by 2022) • National Cyber Security Policy (Endorsed a week ago by Government), • Contributed to the Draft Data Governance Policy, • Draft Government Cloud Policy. • I am also overseeing the Draft of the Digital Government Strategy and Digital Government Enterprise Framework which is being developed in partnership with ITU, DIAL and GovStack, and is due early 2022. • I am also part of the Technical Team for Review and Drafting of the National ICT Policy which will be due mid-2022. I have a vast background in ICT Engineering and Cyber Security spanning 10 years working in the ICT industry in PNG. I am drawn towards Strategic Development and Governance Reforms particularly where technology is involved in addressing social and economic challenges. |
