Mr. William Baraza, Director and CEO, African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI), Kenya
Mr. William Baraza is the Director and CEO – African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI) and also serves as the Senior Advisor Africa to Centre for Strategic Cyberspace and International Studies (CSCIS) – Canada and Chairman - Africa Cyber Défense Forum (ACDF) Advisory Board.
He is currently pursuing PhD in Strategic Information Systems and holds and MBA in Operations Management from the University of Nairobi and a BSc in Computer Science, Egerton University.
He has worked on various ICT4D research projects in collaboration with development partner institutions such as Foreign and Commonwealth Organization (FCDO), IBM, Norwegian Refugee Council, USAID amongst others
With over 25 years experience in telecommunications (including engineering, pre-sales, sales, leadership) and over 20 years experience at senior management level, in Sub Saharan Africa, he has had tours of duty in several African countries including Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe and South Africa.
He has previously held various senior roles in technical and business development in International organizations such as CommScope, Ericsson, Nokia, Cisco and Africa Online.
William is a member of Internet Society (ISOC) and Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
His research interests are in E-commerce, Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence and partners with other researchers to write research papers.
