I-CoDI Youth Challenge

As part of the design phase for the ITU International Centre of Digital Innovation (I-CoDI), a virtual challenge use case focused on Youth in support of the ITU youth strategy [Generation Connect]. During the I-CoDI Youth Challenge week on 16-21 November 2020, 7 hybrid teams of internal ITU staff and external youth experts came together across 10+ time-zones to develop solutions to the challenge question:  ‘How can the ITU communicate effectively with and for youth?‘

While the teams worked flexibly on their ideas, ITU supported them with brainstorming and storytelling tools, as well as personal feedback and mentor sessions. The teams were encouraged to experiment and co-create innovative solutions in line with the I-CoDI Youth Challenge Design Brief. For the final pitches, the teams presented their ideas to a jury representing the Directors of the three ITU bureaus. The top ideas were chosen to be shared at TDAG 2020 and WTDC 2021 and the winning solution will be further developed, funded and implemented by the ITU in 2021.
