Regional Initiative Accelerator Workshop on Enabling Policy and Regulatory Environments to Accelerate Digital Transformation

The Asia and the Pacific Regional Initiative Accelerator Workshop will take place from 27–29 April 2025 in Shenzhen, China, in connection with the upcoming BRICS event. This three-day workshop is jointly organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the China Academy of Information and Communication Technology (CAICT), and the China Branch of the BRICS Institute of Future Networks (BIFNC).

CAICT and BIFNC — both active members of the ITU Acceleration Centres — bring unique expertise and capabilities to the Alliance network. Their involvement in this workshop creates a key opportunity to explore how the Regional Initiative Accelerator (RIA) pilot can benefit centres of the Alliance and help scale the concept globally.

Workshop Objectives

The event will convene key policymakers and stakeholders to:

  1. Identify and analyze emerging signals, trends, blind spots, and opportunities critical to ASP-RI4.
  2. Co-develop regional blueprint projects that adapt to shifting realities, foster cross-country collaboration, and enable shared progress.
  3. Define an actionable partnership framework that unites diverse actors under a common vision.
  4. Initiate country-level adaptation of the regional blueprint to reflect each nation's unique needs and implementation capacity.
This workshop provides a valuable opportunity for stakeholders to collaborate, exchange insights, and develop customizable projects that will deliver meaningful results, enhancing their capacity to accelerate digital transformation efforts.
