E-Agriculture Solutions Forum

 About ICT Applications

To facilitate deployment and navigate the broad spectrum of ICT solutions for agriculture, ITU and FAO established the e-Agriculture Solutions Forum as a collaboration and knowledge sharing platform for ecosystem stakeholders and to highlight the positive impact of ICT on the agricultural sector. The e-Agriculture Solutions Forum brings together stakeholders to showcase solutions, strengthen a Community-of-Practice, accelerate innovation, and to find ways to scale up implementation of proven solutions at national level.

The first iteration of the e-Agriculture Solutions Forum was convened by ITU and FAO in 2016 in Thailand, and brought together a variety of ecosystem stakeholders from the Asia-Pacific region and internationally. The forum was focused on delivering a train-the-trainer workshop about developing national e-agriculture strategies and its national implementation.

The 2018 e-Agriculture Solutions Forum took place in Nanjing, China in November 2018, under the theme “To support the use of sustainable e-agriculture solutions and services,” and was addressed to all ecosystem stakeholders.

The 2020 e-Agriculture Solutions Forum was held hybrid format in Novemeber-December 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand and include keynote speakers and panelists from a wide-ranging spectrum of expertise on digital innovations, policies and technologies to discuss the potentail role of digital agriculture solutions in mitigating the COVID-19 impact and building back better.

The 2023 e-Agriculture Solutions Forum will be held in 11-13 July 2023 in Amman, Jordan. Please visit the FAO website for more information.
