Women and Girls
The ITU Development Bureau (BDT) is committed to closing the digital gender gap and empowering all women and girls, especially those in vulnerable situations, such as women with disabilities, those living in rural or remote areas, or those with low literacy or socio-economic levels, to thrive in the digital world.
When all women and girls are fully included in the digital environment, everyone benefits. Their equal and equitable participation in the ICT sector drives innovation, expands economies, and creates more inclusive and resilient societies — ensuring that digital transformation truly leaves no one behind.
Through targeted activities, projects, initiatives, mentorship programmes, and partnerships with governments, industry, and civil society, we work to ensure an inclusive digital future where all women and girls are empowered by ICTs to become active participants and leaders in the digital society.
