Capacity Development Activities for NoW in ITU-D Delegates on Digital and Leadership Skills

Network of Women

The Network of Women (NoW) in ITU-D is committed to empowering women delegates with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to play an active role in ITU processes and in digital development more broadly. As part of this commitment, ITU-D organizes targeted capacity development activities to strengthen digital and leadership skills, tailored specifically for women in ITU-D delegates.

What we offer

Our training portfolio is designed to equip women delegates with practical tools to:

Strengthen their confidence and voice in high-level international fora;
Enhance negotiation, presentation, and public speaking skills;
Build leadership capabilities to actively contribute to ITU-D Study Groups, TDAG, and WTDC;
Foster intercultural awareness and collaboration across ITU's six regions.

Please find below an overview of our upcoming activities.

Exclusive Masterclass: Confidence Booster for Women in ICT

Date: Sunday, 31 August 2025. Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (back-to-back with GSR-25).
Sessions: Morning 09:00–12:30 | Afternoon 14:00–17:30 (3.5 hours each, English)
Participants: Women delegates attending GSR-25 and invited women guests.
Hosted by: Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), Saudi Arabia. Organized under: Network of Women in ITU-D.

This high-impact Confidence Booster Masterclass is designed to:
Provide neuroscience-based tools to shift mindset and boost confidence.
Develop expressive leadership techniques to command presence.
Strengthen skills in public speaking, negotiation, presentation, and intercultural communication.
Offer hands-on, interactive exercises that transform professional and personal presence.

Pre-WTDC-25 Training - Stronger Together: Women Driving Change at WTDC-25

Date: Wednesday, 8 October 2025
Time: 13:00–15:00 CET

Format: Virtual, with interpretation (ESP–FRE–ARB–RUS–CHI)
Participants: Exclusively for ITU-D delegates planning to attend WTDC-25 (in person or remotely)

This focused two-hour training session will support women delegates from ITU-D Member States in preparing for meaningful participation in the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25) in Baku from 17 to 28 November 2025. Participants will gain essential tools, strategies, and confidence-building exercises tailored for effective engagement in ITU meetings.

The session will:

Provide participants with a clear understanding of WTDC proceedings and expected outcomes.
Offer practical insights, tips, and mentoring from seasoned women delegates who have participated in previous WTDCs.
Strengthen negotiation, leadership, and confidence skills through interactive exchanges.
Foster a strong sense of solidarity and collective empowerment among women delegates in ITU-D.

Interactive Webinar Series – October 2025 (Dates TBC)

NoW in ITU-D will also deliver a series of three interactive webinars (via ITU Academy) focused on key leadership skills:

1. Negotiation.

2. Presentation and Public Speaking.

3. Intercultural Awareness.
