Summary:
|
The recommendation will define measurement setups that will cover speech transmission using bone conducting technology in headsets and handsets.
- The measurement setups will accommodate objective simulation of the structure borne characteristics of speech generation that originates from the human mouth basically, covering the send direction of speech transmission.
- The measurement setups will accommodate the objective simulation of the structure borne characteristics of vibration signals that originate from devices that are placed in the ear canal or on the human skull or other parts of the body holding bone structures. This measurement setup shall basically cover the receive direction of speech transmission.
The development of the recommendation will require:
- Studies on the humans to determine properties of structure borne characteristics of speech to structure borne signals as well as transmission of vibration signals.
- Refinement of existing measurement methods for establishing the characteristics of the measurement setups, such as mechanical impedance.
- Specification of selected bone conducting simulation devices that will simulate the generation and capturing of vibration signals.
