Interdiction This document reports the outcome of the SG15 meeting held in Geneva during 13-24 November, focusing on the items of the AVC Experts Group responsibility. 2. Decision of Draft Recommendations The final plenary on 24 November decided that the following Recommendations are put to the Resolution No.1 balloting procedures: H.222.1 H.245 (USA requested the six week reservation) H.321 H.322 Agreed changes against white contributions are contained in Annexes to this document. ----------------------------------------------------------- Rec. White Agreed changes ----------------------------------------------------------- H.222.1 COM 15-156-E Annex 1 H.245 COM 15-155-E Annex 2 (but this contains only changes made during the WP1/15 meeting, see the clean version to be stored in the AVC ftp site) H.321 COM 15-157-E Annex 3 H.322 COM 15-158-E Annex 4 ----------------------------------------------------------- Note that the following Draft Recommendations were also decided: revision of H.231 revision of H.242 revision of H.243 revision of H.320 H.223 (USA requested the six week reservation) H.263 H.324 (USA requested the six week reservation) G.723.1 (formerly G.723) 3. Determination of Draft Recommendations The final plenary on 24 November determined that the following Recommendations will be decided at the next SG15 meeting in May 1996: H.225.0 (formerly H.22Z) H.310 H.323 New drafts produced by WP1/15 will be made available through the AVC ftp site. As to the use of RTP in H.225.0, SG15 instructed that reference to RFC is not appropriate, it should be annexed based on the IETF (member of ITU-T) contribution. As to the use of MPEG1 audio in H.310, support of Layer 2 is now mandated. The following Draft Recommendations were also determined: Annexes A, B, C to G.723.1 Amendments to H.222.0 Amendments to H.262 Note that Corrigenda (Corrigendum 1 finalized and Corrigendum 2 produced at the MPEG Dallas meeting) will be for approval at the next SG15 meeting in May 1996 awaiting finalization of Corrigendum 2 in MPEG. See Annex 5 to this document for a liaisons statement to MPEG reporting the status of common text Recommendations | International Standards. Note also that SG15 does not seek the common text approach to ISO/IEC 13818-9. See Annex 5. 4. Questions for the next study period We will formulate Questions in two dimensional way; vertical Questions addressing systems in particular network environments, horizontal Questions addressing harmonization between different systems and/or services. The following initial drafts were produced. Vertical Questions Q.A Multimedia terminals transmitting at very low bitrate Q.B N-ISDN audiovisual communication systems Q.C B-ISDN multimedia terminals Q.D LAN multimedia terminals Horizontal Questions Q.X Harmonization and interworking of multimedia applications and services Q.Y MCUs, call control and service interworking Q.Z Advance media coding Our discussion at the Yokosuka meeting was reflected in these initial drafts. 5. Other topics 1) Consideration of new audiovisual coding (G.723.1, H.262, H.263) in H.320 was agreed. The objective is to fix specifications at the next meeting of SG15 in May 1996. 2) Interworking among different audiovisual communications systems accommodated in different networks will become a study item of priority. This includes definition of gateways. See Q.X above. 3) Reply to a liaison statement from SG13 regarding ATM network performance is left to the Experts Group. 4) SG15 endorsed the holding of experts group meetings: one for AVC (16-19 Jan. 1996) and two for LBC (9-12 Jan. 1996 and 23-26 Apr. 1996). - END - ---------------------------[ Annex 1 ]-------------------------- Agreed changes to H.222.1 1. Box 1893) Geneva 15 e-mail: yamashita@nttgva.ch 1215 Switzerland We appreciate the excellent technical work of MPEG in the area of audiovisual coding which have been achieved in collaboration with the experts of ITU-T Study Group 15. This liaison statement reports the current status of common text Recommendations | International Standards in ITU-T. 1. ITU-T Rec. H.222.0|ISO/IEC 13818-1, ITU-T Rec. H.262|ISO/IEC 13818-2 ITU-T approved these two Recommendations | International Standards on 10 July 10 1995 and are now under the publication process. 2. Amendments to H.222.0|ISO/IEC 13818-1 We have determined at this meeting to decide at the next meeting in May 1996 the application of Resolution No.1 to the two Amendments regarding the registration of format identifier and copyright identifier. This is in accordance of the two stage approval process defined in Resolution No. 1. Please note that the reference to this Recommendation | International Standard should read "ITU-T Rec. H.222.0|ISO/IEC 13818-1" instead of "ISO/IEC 13818-1". 3. Amendments to H.262|ISO/IEC 13818-2 We have determined at this meeting to decide at the next meeting in May 1996 the application of Resolution No.1 to the two Amendments regarding the registration of copyright identifier and the 4:2:2 profile awaiting the finalization of the latter at your meeting in January 1996. Please note that the reference to this Recommendation | International Standard in Amendment 1 should read "ITU-T Rec. H.262|ISO/IEC 13818-2" instead of "ISO/IEC 13818-2". 4. Corrigenda to H.262|ISO/IEC 13818-2 We have reviewed Corrigendum 1 and Corrigendum 2 at this meeting. Study Group 15 intends to approve these two corrigenda together at the next meeting in May 1996 awaiting finalization of Corrigendum 2 at your meeting in March 1996. 5. Real Time Interface Specification ISO/IEC 13818-9 After having reviewed the outcome of your Dallas meeting in November 1995 addressing low jitter, we have decided not to seek the common text approach to this specification in the interest of more jitter prone environments of the ATM networks. -----------------------[ End of Annexes ]-----------------------
