The best models for care using ICT are multidimensional and take account of people’s needs. In order to have an effective, well functioning eHealth system, good enabling policies are critical and may need to be revised given the new economic climate and changes in ICT. Additionally, stakeholder buy-in must be sought. Leadership and country ownership are critical to align and optimize investments, especially where funds have already been commit-ted.
