What I’ve learned… What is success for you? I used to think being successful was about making the business financially profitable. But I have since realized that at the early start-up stage, it is all about creating real, lasting value for other people, achieving scale, and undergoing personal growth. Once these elements are figured out, the rest tends to follow. How could we encourage more people to use technology for good and become entrepreneurs? For those people who are naturally curious, proactive, and entrepreneurially minded, it is really about providing as much opportunity as possible for them to widely explore the different opportunities in different sectors, to develop/iterate ideas, and to learn about the trade (yes, disciplined entrepreneurship can be learned, especially from past success stories/inspirations). Are you there yet? Still working on it, achieving excellence is a life-long quest :) Who and what have been most helpful to you throughout your journey? Undoubtedly mentors – mentors who see their younger selves in me and take a personal interest in the project. When I am at my wits’ end, my mentors have an uncanny ability to give my project a healthy boost. Success for a start-up is all about creating real, lasting value for other people.
