OpenCurriculum There is a lack of openness and transparency in educational curricula around the world today – governments and local private publishers control and dictate the learning materials and distribution channels. OpenCurriculum is an online platform that allows communities to create, access and share locally-relevant K-12 learning material. By providing open collaboration tools that are similar to those of the open source software industry, OpenCurriculum allows communities to build and maintain the highest quality of localized educational materials. OpenCurriculum has a tremendous impact opportunity: by making communities actively engaged in creating and protecting locally-relevant high-quality learning materials on the web, educational material for local K-12 education can be made free and openly licensed forever, leading to improved access to educational opportunities and innovation in K-12 educational curricula around the world. What? A website where teachers create and share educational materials. Who? The platform for K-12 educators worldwide. Why? Because it allows teachers, learners and content publishers to collaborate effectively and easily. Goals To improve access to high-quality educational materials to a million more people.
