How do you define yourself? I am the ultimate connector and driver for execution. I like empowering and inspiring innovators, although I believe in focusing on areas where I have value to add. Why do you mentor tech start-ups? I am fundamentally a geek so I love innovative technologies. I love co-creation Laina Raveendran Greene is Chief Strategy and Investment Officer of IBST, one of the four public listed independent telecom tower companies in Indonesia. Her role includes identifying new innovative technologies and solutions, and investor relations. Laina’s work experience spans 25 years in the telecoms industry with a focus on Green ICT and bridging the digital divide in developing countries. Having founded and run two companies herself, she serves on companies’ boards and mentors start-ups around the world. She considers herself a serial entrepreneur and a global citizen. and co-learning, which keeps me stimulated, innovative and young at heart, so I like mentoring young innovators if time permits. Why did you become part of the Young Innovators Competition? I do believe that “Necessity Is The Mother Of Invention”. I am thus always on the lookout also for interesting innovations from emerging countries that just need a little nurturing to make it to market. Youth in particular still have idealism and innovative thinking to search for ICT-related solutions to help make this world a better place, hence my interest in the Young Innovators Competition.
