Tuesday, 5 October Serbia • actively support and participate in the work of the ‘Global Network of Women ICT Decision-Makers’, that is to be launched by the ITU, aimed at pro-moting the work of ITU in using ICTs for the social and economic empowerment of women and girls, by building partnerships and synergies between existing networks at national, regional and inter-national levels. Finally, I believe that a strong, modern ITU, respon-sive to the new challenges and opportunities, must be directed by a team of experienced and knowl-edgeable professionals. I am sure that in the forth-coming elections the best candidates will be cho-sen for the key posts of the organization. Serbian administration has put forward for the considera-tion of the Conference the name of Moma Simic, a highly qualified professional with extensive serv-ices rendered to the world of telecommunications, in particular at ITU, whose involvement, we believe, will contribute significantly to the enhancement of the Union. Ladies and gentlemen, in thanking in advance for your support to our candidate as well as for our initiative – please allow me to offer best wishes for the success of the Guadalajara Plenipotentiary Conference 2010. Thank you. 81
