– 162 – (7.2 – Other miscellaneous matters) 2 to evaluate the current ITU publications policy as far as the six official and working languages of the Union are concerned and to propose new cost-recovery and financing mechanisms in accordance with Resolution 66 (Rev. Minneapolis, 1998), 3 to develop recommendations for efficient and effective use of the six official and working languages of the Union on an equal footing including particular incentives for each linguistic group, based on practical experiences of the Sectors and the secretariat, 4 to prepare a report for consideration by the Member States and Council 2006 and for transmission to the next Plenipotentiary conference, as appropriate, instructs the Secretary-General, in close coordination with the Directors of the Bureaux and with the advice of the Working Group on languages 1 to implement all necessary measures in order to finalize the implementation of Resolution 115 (Marrakesh, 2002) within the financial limits of the Union as defined in its 2006-2007 biennial budget; 2 to complete all appropriate structural changes for the rationalization of language services and document processing activities, and to report to the 2006 session of the Council; 3 to unify existing linguistic databases into a centralized system in order to respond to the needs of the ITU, including those of all the Sectors. 4 to explore and implement, as appropriate, the most efficient and economical solutions for the provision of ITU languages services, including the use of new technologies, remote translation, remote interpretation and outsourcing, and report accordingly to the 2006 session of the Council. further instructs the Secretary-General and the Directors of the Bureaux 1 to provide all relevant information and assistance to the Working Group on languages; 2 to continue to identify and implement the most efficient measures in order to facilitate the implementation of Resolution 115 (Marrakesh, 2002) within the financial limits of the Union.
