RES164 – 269 – ADD RESOLUTION 164 (WRC-15) Deployment of earth stations in some Region 3 countries in the frequency band 14.5-14.8 GHz in the fixed-satellite service (Earth-to-space) not for feeder links for the broadcasting-satellite service The World Radiocommunication Conference (Geneva, 2015), considering a) that there is a demand for satellite communication services, particularly for the Earth-to-space direction in the frequency range 13-17 GHz; b) that some of this demand may be met by earth stations operating in the frequency band 14.5-14.8 GHz without requiring this use to be subject to the Appendix 30A Plan or List; c) that certain conditions would be required in order to ensure the protection and future use of assignments subject to the Appendix 30A Plan and List; d) that, in order to ensure the protection of current and future use of other services to which this frequency band is allocated, earth stations would need to operate under certain technical and operational limitations (see Nos. 5.509B, 5.509C, 5.509D, 5.509E and 5.509F); e) that some administrations may not be in a position to ascertain the potential future use of this frequency band in their territory, resolves that earth stations in Region 3 in the frequency band 14.5-14.8 GHz in the fixed-satellite service (Earth-to-space) not for feeder links for the broadcasting-satellite service shall be operated only in the following countries: Australia, Cambodia, China, Japan, Lao P.D.R., Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Thailand and Viet Nam; such operation is subject to the technical and operational limitations contained in Nos. 5.509B, 5.509C, 5.509D, 5.509E and 5.509F.
