The subject meeting of ITU-T SG16 experts will be held in Cannes,

This meeting will once again attempt to minimize copying costs to the host be relying on members bringing electronic or their own hard copies of all documents to the meeting.  To accomplish this, all members are requested to comply with the following:

4.1  When you are going to submit a document, please request a number from Ms. Janet Smith (email: <janet.smith@rss.rockwell.com>; fax: +1 714 221-6511) as soon as possible, by 1 June (Monday) at the latest, including the title, area of interest, purpose and contributor details.
Document number (Q11-F-nnn) will be allocated by Ms. Janet Smith.  Early indication of your submission plan will be welcomed and appreciated.

4.2.2  Use the MS Word6.0 document template from the q11 ftp site: ftp "standards.pictel.com/q11-site/cannes.june98/cannes.dot", if submitting documents in MSWord.

4.3  All the contributors are requested to distribute their documents to the q11 reflector as early as possible, at least 7 calendar days in advance of the meeting (by June 1) by posting them as follows:

Use of Word for Windows 2.0 or 6 or pure text is recommended.

4.4  Input documents can be retrieved from /q11-site/cannes.june98 directory of the q11 ftp site.

4.5  Please bring 60 copies of your document to Cannes.  Your
cooperation is needed to start the meeting with all the documents at
hand; please note that the copying capacity at the meeting site will be
limited.

Please fill and send the registration form(attachment 1 to the invitation on the ftp site) to Mr. Azdine TADRIST with copy to Rapporteurs(e-mail: tom.geary@rss.rockwell.com and janet.smith@rss.rockwell.com) as soon as possible if you plan to attend the meeting.

To travel to Cannes, there are 2 suggested trips:
   1) direct flight to Nice International Airport ( New York, San
       Francisco and European capitals)
   2) flight via Paris (Charles de Gaulle or Orly)

There are flights to Nice every hour from Roissy (Air France at Airport and from Orly (Air France, Air Libert and AOM).

Note, there are free shuttles every 7 minutes between Roissy Airport 1 to Roissy Airport 2. It takes about 1 hour to travel from Roissy to Orly.

From Nice Airport, there are 3 ways to go to Cannes:
   1) take a taxi: one trip is about 370 FF
   2) rent a car and drive on the highway (be prepared to pay the toll). 
(A car park is available at the Hotel (125 FF per day). Exit at Cannes.
   3) take the bus to Cannes: there is a bus each hour to the City Center which is a 10 minutes walk from the Hilton Hotel. 


8. Facilities:

Some desktop PCs installed with Windows95 and Microsoft Office (French version) will be available for editing work etc. In addition, a server PC and LAN environment, will be provided. Please bring your own LAN interface device and Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable with enough length( 5 m long is preferred), if you want to connect your notebook PC to the LAN.
