SG11 working party 2 thanks SG16 for their liaison statement on the
new codepoint for Recommendation H.324 annex D in Recommendation
Q.931.

SG11 working party 2 is in principle willing to allocate a codepoint
in the Bearer capability and Low layer compatibility information
elements covering terminals with this functionality. However, we have
two questions that require answers before an allocation can be
properly made:

1) Previous allocations to support Recommendation H.320 terminal types
were made on the basis of the H.2xx series Recommendation supported.
Therefore there is no allocation for Recommendation H.320, but instead
the allocation is for Recommendation H.221 and Recommendation H.242
protocols used in conjunction. SG11 would wish to continue this
established principle. Does a similar in-band protocol exist for
Recommendation H.324 annex D or is this fully specified Recommendation
H.324 Annex D.

2) At time of receipt of this liaison, we have no information on the
current status of Recommendation H.324. As a normative reference to
the identified document needs to exist at the time of publication of
the codepoint within Recommendation Q.931, we need confirmation of the
envisaged timescales for Recommendation H.324 and any related
recommendations.
