They are excluded from the life-changing opportunities that digital connectivity brings. Increasing affordable access to the Internet is a key challenge, but equally important are barriers that hinder adoption, such as the absence of localized content, applications and services, issues related to disabilities and digital skills. Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based solutions offer new possibilities to address these challenges not for the sake of connectivity alone, but to fast-track the meaningful participation of one-third of humanity into the global digital society.<br><br>On 30-31 May 2024, at the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/aiforgood.itu.int\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AI for Good Global Summit<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in Geneva, history will be made when the power of Artificial Intelligence for social good is put into action through concrete pledges facilitated by ITU\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/itu-d\/sites\/partner2connect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Partner2Connect Digital Coalition<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<strong>Be part of this moment and join us by submitting your pledge<\/strong>!    <\/p>\n                        <h3 class=\"h5\">\n        What to pledge?    <\/h3>\n                        <p>\n        In collaboration with the AI for Good Global Summit, the P2C platform is open for the submission of pledges by innovative entities across all sectors who can commit\u00a0<strong>quantifiable<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>concrete<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>real projects<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>programs<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>policies<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0<strong>financial contributions<\/strong>\u00a0using:    <\/p>\n                    <div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li>AI for increasing&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/itu-d\/reports\/partner2connect-action-framework\/2022\/03\/11\/focus-area-1-access-connecting-people-everywhere\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Access<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>(ICT\/Connectivity Infrastructure and Affordability) and\/or<\/li>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"ituContainer\">\n<li>AI for fast-tracking&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/itu-d\/reports\/partner2connect-action-framework\/2022\/03\/12\/focus-area-2-adoption-empowering-communities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Adoption<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>(Skills, Digital Inclusion, Relevant and Local Content and Services).<\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div>                        <h3 class=\"h5\">\n        How and when to pledge?    <\/h3>\n                        <p>\n        Visit the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/itu-d\/sites\/partner2connect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>P2C website<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and complete the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/partner2connect-pledges\/submit-pledge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>pledge submission form online<\/strong><\/a>. We encourage you to be as detailed as possible in your submission and to carefully review the information about\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/partner2connect-pledges\/who-can-make-a-pledge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>who can make a pledge<\/strong><\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/partner2connect-pledges\/types-of-pledges\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>types of pledges<\/strong><\/a>, and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/partner2connect-pledges\/criteria-for-a-strong-pledge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>criteria for a strong pledge<\/strong><\/a>. However, 2.6 billion people remain offline and excluded from the transformative power of the Internet. ITU\u2018s Partner2Connect Digital Coalition (P2C) seeks to accelerate connectivity through an action-oriented approach that is critical to the development agendas for LDCs, LLDCs, and SIDS. To date, more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/itu-d\/sites\/partner2connect\/pledges\/explore-pledges\/\">800 pledges<\/a> valued at over USD 46 Billion have been submitted through the P2C platform by over 420 entities. The landmark AI for Good Global Summit 2017 marked the beginning of a global dialogue on the potential of AI to act as a force for good.
