- In collaboration with leading ICT companies and
institutions, IMPACT will conduct high-level briefings for
the benefit of representatives of ITU Member States. Many of IMPACT’s key partners (such as Kaspersky Labs, Symantec
Corporation and others) have committed to make available
their respective CTOs, Chief Research Officers and other
experts in a unique high-level IMPACT programme to keep
governments abreast of present and future cyber-threats.
This intelligence is backed literally by billions of dollars
annually in R&D – no one is better able to provide a solid
understanding of technological trends or ‘predict’ upcoming
threats. ITU will contribute its experience in
capacity-building and developing frameworks for policy
response to this programme. Such high-level, cross-industry
briefings are unprecedented and will give ITU Member States
invaluable exposure and privileged private sector insight
about the latest trends, potential threats and emerging
technologies. The expectation is that these sessions will
evolve into an invaluable forum where leading private sector
companies share constructive ideas and best practices with
governments.
- IMPACT will also provide world-class cyber-training
throughout 2009 in the form of specialised seminars,
workshops etc. To deliver these, IMPACT is collaborating
with ITU and other globally-renowned partners, including the
SANS Institute, Honeynet Project and others. This training will support ITU’s objective of capacity building as
outlined by GCA work area four.
- ITU Member States will benefit from the comprehensive
training facilities at IMPACT’s Global HQ in Cyberjaya.
These include specialised training rooms, an auditorium,
always-on (24x7x365) Security Operations Centre, labs,
accommodation facilities for visiting trainers and experts,
a fully-equipped data centre and other modern facilities
needed to support high-tech, specialised training programs.
IMPACT’s Centre for Training & Skills Development will play
a key role in realising ITU GCA’s goal of capacity-building
among Member States.
