Session 6:
Meeting C5 Goals: How far are we towards meeting the
goals of C.5?
Paragraph 28 of the Geneva Plan of Action stressed the need
for an international performance evaluation and benchmarking
to follow up the implementation of the objectives, goals and
targets in the Plan of Action. Para 112-120 of the Tunis
Agenda further called for periodic evaluation of the
implementation of WSIS using appropriate indicators and
benchmarking.
The multi-stakeholder WSIS community should agree on a way
forward for both assessing the current situation and
identifying ways of measuring progress towards the Goals of
C5.
With less than 8 years left to meet the
goals of WSIS, it is vital to measure progress towards the
implementation of WSIS Action Line C.5. This session
provides an overview of current activities related to
measurement of WSIS Action Line C5 from different
stakeholders.
