MyGov
MyGov (mygov.in), the crowdsourcing platform of Government of India, promotes active citizen participation in India’s governance and development. Launched on July 26th, 2014 by the Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi, MyGov facilitates continuous engagement between government and citizens. It utilizes multiple media - MyGov App (tasks & discussions), Swachh Bharat App (share cleanliness activities, take pledge and nominate others), SMS based polls, IVRS based audio recording and OBD for Honorable Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi’s monthly radio address, Mann Ki Baat to reach grassroots level. At present, MyGov has a registered user-base of more than 50 lakh citizens, 64 Groups 1.99 lakh submissions on 699 tasks, 38.50 lakh comments on 752 Discussions, 242 Polls/Surveys, and 166 talks have been registered. MyGov has achieved successful engagement with the citizens on important policy and governance issues where their ideas are collated for creating national policies, like: • Girl Child Education • Trafficking • Cleanliness Promotion • Building Sustainable and Technology Driven Cities • Skill Development • Healthy India • Union and Railway Budget • Net Neutrality • New Education Policy • Smart City Mission & Hackathon • Mann ki Baat • Beti Bachao Beti Padao • Accessible India • Goods and Services Tax • Sankalp Se Swachh Siddhi MyGov has developed various microsites under its umbrella to emphasize its presence in Digital India programme and provide platform for various initiatives such as Start-up India, Blogs, Transforming India and State Instances, etc. Keeping the above activities in mind, MyGov has played an instrumental role in realizing some of the objectives put forth by the Sustainable Development Goals such as Ensure healthy lives and promote wellbeing for all, inclusive and equitable quality education, and gender equality, access to water and sanitation and creating inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities.
