Information about the project
Information Society and Developmen(ISAD) Plan
Information Society and Development(ISAD) Plan seeks to give national vision of South Africa's Information Society. It is developed in consultation with stakeholders and its pillars are ICT policies, ICT infrastructure,ICT access, HRD and R&D, Social Inclusion, e-Awareness and Funding model. The Plan has the following priority focus areas for ICT applications: e-education, e-Health, e-Government, SMMEs and Local Content Development. As the Geneva phase of Summit, the Tunis encouraged countries to develop what is called an e-strategy. In South Africa we already had the concept of the e-strategy in our Electronic Communication and Transaction Act (ECT) Act. So it was decided to call it an Information SOciety and Development (ISAD)Plan which outlines the country's plan to implement the WSIS action lines. This project has benn submitted to the Golden Book database.
