Jordan National Electronic Invoicing System

Transforming Tax Administration Through Digital Innovation

Description

The Jordan National Electronic Invoicing System (JoFotara) is a transformative government initiative that has revolutionized Jordan's tax ecosystem through comprehensive digital transformation. Launched through a strategic four-phase approach starting in 2019, the system now processes 1.25 million invoices daily with an average transaction time of 0.5 seconds, serving over 159,000 registered taxpayers.

JoFotara integrates cutting-edge technologies including artificial intelligence for tax auditing (achieving approaches 100% accuracy), real-time validation systems, and QR code authentication. The platform offers multiple access channels: a free web portal, seamless ERP integration, and mobile applications, ensuring accessibility for all business sizes. The system has been fully integrated with the Tax Revenue System, creating a unified digital ecosystem.

Through comprehensive legislation, public awareness campaigns, and the innovative "Fawateeri" app that incentivizes invoice requests through prize draws, JoFotara has achieved remarkable adoption rates. This initiative has enhanced transparency, reduced tax evasion, eliminated millions of paper invoices annually, and positioned Jordan as a regional leader in digital government services.
