Our goal is to inspire everyone to be willing and able to participate in the digital development.Once a year, during autumn, the themeday Digitalidag is organized, where actors across Sweden come together to inspire, educate, and discuss the opportunities and challenges of digitalization. Digitalidag represents the collective engagement of all participants, ensuring broad outreach with activities tailored to diverse target groups. During Digitalidag 2024, 387 actors organized 530 activities in 185 municipalities across Sweden. Digitalidag drew inspiration from the Swiss project "Digital Day". Our strategy has always aimed for nationwide presence, collaborating with stakeholders at national, regional and local levels. In 2024, our goal was to arrange activities in all 290 Swedish municipalities; we reached 185. This effort continues in 2025. We also aim to inspire other EU countries to join the movement and together highlight the importance of digital inclusion and that it is a matter that regards everyone.
Our strategy emphasizes sustainability by leveraging existing infrastructure – both for the Digitalidag office and the actors participating. We've utilized sustainable deliveries and encourage the reuse of existing materials, fostering a culture of sustainability.
Digitalidag promotes the values of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in several ways. Digitalidag aligns with WSIS's vision of a people-centered, inclusive, and development-oriented information Society by working to ensure that everyone, regardless of age or background, can participate in the digital society. Through broad collaboration we arrange activities and resources to help individuals improve their digital skills and gain confidence in using technology, addressing the digital divide in Sweden.
