With 67% of the Saudi Arabian population classified as youth and as the number of women entering the country’s workforce increases, it is imperative to build young adults’ capacity to work successfully in a diverse and Inclusive environment. Success@Work is a Saudi Aramco initiative that equips early-career Saudis with essential knowledge and skills in diversity and inclusion (D&I). Launched in 2023, the program is presented as a half-day, face-to-face session at National Training Centers (NTCs) across Saudi Arabia. Its content centers on three core objectives: building awareness of D&I (including definitions, benefits, and importance), raising self-awareness to foster greater understanding of others, and developing inclusive behaviors and communication skills. Since its inception, the program has been expanded to include Train-the-Trainer and Master Trainer Certification components as well as allowances for program participants to attend further D&I training via Company course offerings. Data (e.g., Net Promoter Score of 92 among participants, enhanced perceptions of Saudi Aramco as a leading champion of inclusion in the Kingdom) suggests that Success@Work is a real driver in creating more welcoming and equitable work environments for participants, their future coworkers, and the entire national workforce.

Success@Work embraces WSIS’s commitment to equitable access to ICTs by opening its training to all Company employees, interns, co-ops, and National Training Center (NTC) students—regardless of socioeconomic status, gender, age, ability, or geography. Program materials reflect a range of cultural, linguistic, and social contexts, and videos are presented in English (Saudi Aramco’s official language) with Arabic subtitles, ensuring participants who struggle with English or have hearing impairments can fully engage. By using examples featuring both male and female leaders, as well as Saudi and expatriate employees, the program underscores its inclusive ethos and fosters respect for diversity. In line with WSIS’s focus on digital literacy and lifelong learning, Success@Work provides an empowering educational platform that goes beyond Aramco’s walls to benefit a broader community. Acknowledging WSIS’s emphasis on freedom of expression and privacy, Success@Work creates psychologically safe environments where participants are encouraged to speak openly without fear of retribution or judgment. Success@Work fosters an atmosphere of trust and integrity by encouraging dialogue, empathy, and inclusivity—critical elements for an ethical ICT environment. Consistent with WSIS’s drive to leverage ICTs for sustainable progress, Success@Work trains NTC employees to deliver the program, thereby nurturing local ownership. Finally, Success@Work embodies WSIS’s call for broad-based partnerships by involving governments, NGOs, the private sector, academia, and local communities in shaping and delivering the initiative. Collaboration with in-Kingdom universities, ITCs, and NTCs extends the program’s reach and impact. This coordinated effort—built on shared goals and knowledge exchange—strengthens communities and amplifies the benefits of the Information Society, fully aligning with WSIS’s vision of inclusive and people-centered development.
