Interactive Tool of Policies, Terms and Conditions Applicable in the use of Digital Platforms.


Description

The Interactive Tool of Policies, Terms and Conditions Applicable in the Use of Digital Platforms allows users to know and compare the information that main digital platforms collect from users, as well as the treatment given to their personal data and the options, they have within the platforms to delete or manage it.
The main objective of this Tool is to provide users with transparent and accessible information on the treatment given to their information and the permissions or licenses granted on the management of it to the various digital platforms when they use the services provided.
With the Interactive Tool of Policies, Terms and Conditions Applicable in the Use of Digital Platforms, users have the possibility of consulting information from at least 45 digital platforms, and the information is classified for better understanding into ten categories, which are:
1. Dating Apps,
2. Telecommuting applications,
3. Terminal equipment,
4. E-commerce platforms,
5. Entertainment platforms,
6. Transport platforms,
7. Social media,
8. Food transportation services,
9. Operating Systems
10. Mobile video games.

The Tool also: • Creates an inclusive and equitable digital environment by promoting transparent and ethical practices for all users. • It promotes the development of ICT applications by facilitating transparent and reliable practices, fostering innovation. • Respect cultural diversity by considering the different privacy needs of communities. • It addresses ethical issues by focusing on transparent practices that respect users' rights. • It stimulates international and regional cooperation by adopting transparent standards, facilitating a secure exchange of information. The Interactive Tool of Policies, Terms and Conditions Applicable in the Use of Digital Platforms can play a crucial role in promoting an inclusive, ethical, and user-centric information society, aligned with the objectives and values of the WSIS as it offers transparency and trust, the Tool also strengthens the trust of users, promotes innovation and ensures that the Information Society benefits. Finally, it is important to note that the Tool was implemented last October 2023 and to date has more than 258 visits.
