Bin Wariqa

Facilitate the access of doctors in case of emergency

Description

Bin Wariqa service is a digital community service that aims at saving lives. The service ensures emergency medical cases at hospitals are assisted as fast as possible by enabling the necessary doctor to reach the hospital faster using their own vehicles, with the aid of a smart app. The smart app allows doctors to communicate their locations instantly to traffic digital monitoring rooms, which automatically provides the fastest route to the hospital avoiding traffic and giving them exceptions such as using dedicated emergency road lanes and – if necessary – safely going over the speed limit.

Bin Wariqa is named after the first Emirati doctor who was offering alterative medicines to communities. The idea of the project was initiated by the community, designed with the participation of relevant stakeholders, and implemented through a partnership between the Ministry of Interior and medical entities in the UAE.

Since its inception in 2020, Bin Wariqa service was used by more than 300 doctors in various hospitals nationwide, attending to more than 500 critical and emergency cases. Bin Wariqa provides a success story with proven impact, particularly on social inclusion by offering medical emergency cases with fast assistance regardless of race, religion or gender.
