My light on the mountain

Description

With the materialization of the program and its projects, in a first stage more than 5,000 children could benefit, which would be favored in all stages of development of the projects, including the disabled, a similar figure that will increase each year. Joven Club is a referential network of technological centers in the national territory, where boys, girls, adolescents, young people, older adults, women and men, have found a training space in terms of the development of new technologies and where to deploy projects that promote the development of their ideas and perspectives.
In addition, it is a place where children's computational thinking is encouraged from an early age. Joven Club's strength is being the source of connection for many of the communities in Cuba, facilitating connectivity to more than 1,150,000 people throughout the national territory, either by Wi-Fi access point or by other forms of access.
Due to the foregoing, the "Joven Club Computerizing the Community" program is proposed, in order to:
1. Eliminate the gap that exists between the countryside and the city.
2. Contribute to the formation and creation of a technological and informatics culture in the communities.
3. Create a network of technology centers that make it possible, from an environmental perspective, to provide computer and connectivity services in the communities.
4. Make it possible for more and more children, adolescents and young people to have access to technologies, placing greater emphasis on women and girls.
In this way, more connectivity services can be provided to the population, greater capacities to deploy personal projects in rural communities, encourage the use of new technologies in the Productive Poles, with the goal of linking agriculture with technology to achieve with the sustainable development goals of the ONU 2030.

WSIS values promotion

With this project it will be possible to bring information and communications technology to a large population in rural communities. Therefore, these population groups would benefit from access to renewable energy, which will allow them to train in virtual and distance courses offered by the Youth Club, access the connection and its benefits. By reducing the gap between the countryside and the city, young people will also be able to develop their intellectual capacities according to current technological development.
