Jakarta Smart City Living Lab

Social Media Innovation Smart City

Description

During the digital era, information becomes one of the main needs for the community. Especially in Jakarta, where people have a variety of different problems. Not to mention, a dominating level of hoax spread and consumed by the public. Therefore, Jakarta needs an official, trusted, and reliable source of information as well as learning media that is easily accessible by everyone.

JSC Lab is an information channel owned by Jakarta Smart City in which people can learn more about smart cities and various services provided from. JSC's information channels are in the form of website and social media. The content vary from ePosters, videos, articles, to infographics, which make knowledge-sharing about smart cities more understandable to the public. Some topics covered by JSC are vaccination services, JAKI's digital public service, and other topics related to urban issues.

JSC Lab also provides learning media through discussions or seminars, such as JSC Hands-on Workshop, JSC Goes to School and Data Science Trainee. By joining these seminars, people can learn more about not only smart city ecosystem, but also how digital services and technology can ease their everyday problems and help them navigate and live better in Jakarta.

In implementing our programs, Jakarta Smart City collaborates with various stakeholders, such as local and overseas universities (i.e UI, Oxford University, ITB), startups, private sectors in Jakarta and other provinces, as well as other countries (Berlin and Bangkok). This was developed because socialization from the government is essential in dealing with the uncertainty of information circulating in society. Apart from that, a multi-stakeholders collaboration is needed to gather different perspectives and make sure that the people are connected to the information that they need. Therefore, Jakarta Smart City as one of the agents plays an active role in providing education and official information regarding smart city ecosystem.
