Traffic Digital Services


Description

The Project Objective is to provide the best services electronically without the personal presence to the General Directorate of Traffic, and to complete the services in easy, fast steps in a safe and professional manner, at the lowest possible cost through more than one channel such as the Portal, Mobile application and Kiosks.
This strategy is in line with the direction of the national strategies of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which aim to improve the quality of services provided and reduce government costs in line with the economic vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain 2030. In Addition, the following were achieved:
o Improve the quality of services delivered to the users
o Improve the customer satisfaction rates on the services provided
o Cost efficiency on delivering the government services
o Ensure the services viability and availably (24/7)
o Increase the creativity and innovation in delivering the government services
o Utilizing the best practices and latest trends to ensure customer satisfaction
o Improve the internal process and efficiency of GDT

The Management has achieved the result through the digital transformation of more than 30 services, available 24/7, which contributed in reducing the costs, saves the effort made by the customer to complete the traffic service, coming to the Department and waiting, where he can clear his transactions electronically.

The increase in the use of the online services, have the Impact on reducing the number of visitors to GDT Service Centers, which helped the Managements in the optimal utilization of human resources (Job Replacement), as well as minimize the human errors, improve the quality of services and cutting the cost of Printing, total Online transactions in the year 2020 were 794340, which increased to 884200 in the year 2021.

This Project is related to the services that Government is providing to the Public, as well as we are partnering with Private sectors in any opportunity that can improve the quality of Traffic Digital services

The General Directorate of Traffic (GDT) seeks to sustain this project by transforming all Traffic services by adding all kinds of traffic certificates, vehicle ownership transfer transactions, issuance of inspection and ownership certificates, renewal and issuance of driving licenses of all classifications, including learning licenses, so that the application is an integral part of the system of services provided by GDT to citizens and residents, visitors, business owners and government agencies.

By this achievement, GDT is seeking to become one of the leading institutions in the region and being evaluated in advanced positions in the various approved indicators , so that the vision, mission and objectives of the future strategy revolve around creating a strong, flexible and safe environment to encourage innovation in public services, which contributes to the dissemination of knowledge that enables officials to make decisions and develop the services to be more easy to achieve at the lowest cost, as the General Directorate of Traffic is constantly evaluating and developing all its services through monitoring and studying observations and re-engineering its procedures


WSIS values promotion

The project is contributing directly to the below WSIS values: - Utilizing ICT in improving the government services by focusing on the quality of services, reliability, availability and sustainability of government services for all the stakeholders involved. Furthermore, this project is focusing the encapsulating the innovation by defining new and innovative ways to deliver the services by making decisions based on a user centric approach. The project is considered as one of the key pillars for the eGovernment Program in the kingdom of Bahrain under the strategic direction of fully transforming the Government services to Digital Services.
