"Intelligent Brain" in Digital Transformation-Artificial Intelligence Middle Platform


Description

With the rapid popularization and application of 5G, big data, cloud computing, IoT, and other related technologies, ICT has become an important driver of economic growth. Against this background, in order to promote the implementation of the action program of the ICT World Summit, the goal of automation and intelligence in digital transformation of enterprises in all walks of life is achieved. ZTE took the lead in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and set up an artificial intelligence research team long ago to construct the "intelligent brain" -artificial intelligence platform for the digital transformation of the enterprise. Based on the platform, ZTE carried out the automatic intelligent application practice that supports all parties. This project not only supports the digital transformation of ZTE's internal enterprises, but also actively shares practice with external parties. In recent years, this project has taken the lead in completing a number of international standards (ITU-T Y.3172, Y.3174, Y.3176, Y.3179) related to network intelligence in ITU-T SG13. At the meeting of the AI Foundation of the Linux Foundation in 2019, Adlik, the deep learning reasoning optimization framework contributed by ZTE, was unanimously approved, becoming the sixth community-level open source project of the Foundation. Up to now, three versions have been released, including 20 contributors from ZTE, Baidu, Intel and China Unicom. Adlik is used for efficiently optimizing and deploying the deep learning model under various hardware environments. It helps speed up the application of artificial intelligence in production practice, promote the intelligent practice of artificial intelligence in the sustainable economic development of our society, and realize the replication and expansion of our artificial intelligence projects in various industries.

Replicability

In order to speed up the application of artificial intelligence in production practice, ZTE actively promotes the cooperation between Adlik open source project and other open source projects. It not only reaches cooperation in China with Baidu Paddle and Intel Openvino in optimization, compilation and deployment of in-depth learning model, but also assists the construction of in-China open source ecology. It also promotes the application of Adlik in ORAN and the implementation of in-depth learning technology in the field of communications. Up to now, three versions have been released, including 20 contributors from ZTE, Baidu, Intel and China Unicom. In September this year, Adlik also launched an AI open day event together with LF AI&Data and the AI for Good summit of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Actively share the Adlik technology so that more industries and enterprises can learn more about it. In addition, with the release and implementation of the international standards of ITU-T series related to this project, this project will accelerate the application of artificial intelligence in production practice.


Sustainability

According to the WSIS action plan, it is essential to build capabilities in a cost-effective manner. The construction of the AI platform and the application in various fields can efficiently realize the intelligentization of production activities. For example, the intelligentization of ICT equipment planning, maintenance, and operation can greatly reduce operation and maintenance costs. For example, 5G equipment consumes a large amount of power. Through the introduction of AI technology, intelligent power saving is achieved, which greatly reduces power consumption and saves resources. Therefore, AI and information and communication technologies can be combined to build intelligent, efficient, and low-carbon information and communication infrastructure in a sustainable way.


WSIS values promotion

In recent years, the project has taken steps to promote the values of the World Summit on the Information Society in a number of aspects. Be actively engaged in community exchanges and technical lectures. Share the Adlik technology actively in various forums and summits. Let more enterprises know about and use the Adlik, and release technical articles on deep learning model inference acceleration through a variety of self-media channels. Dig into the technical essence and help developers understand the underlying principles. The project will continue to bring the values of the World Summit to the public through open source communities, forums, and various public channels. In particular, ZTE sponsored and hosted the 2021 ITU AI for good summit to discuss with the industry how AI can better serve the world information society. At the 2021 World Artificial Intelligence Conference held in Shanghai, China, we shared our insights on the 5G+AI digital and intelligent empowerment industry innovation and development practices. Through the practice of 5G+AI (for example, intelligent power saving of 5G equipment), it actively promotes the social value of artificial intelligence in reducing energy consumption in the field of information communication.
