Description

WoMakersCode is the largest technology community in Brazil, with goal to strengthen female protagonism in IT, through professional and economic development. We have 14 local groups, where we organize meetups, technology career mentoring and free training for women, focusing on software development, data science, artificial intelligence, open source and soft skills. Our target audience are all people who identify themselves as cis or trans women.

WSIS values promotion

We created a mentoring methodology, called WoMakersCode Canvas, which supports our learning experience within bootcamps and is based on three steps: diagnosis, goals and journey. One of the causes of the gender gap is the low incentive for women to careers in STEM, aligned with the lack of knowledge about the basis of these roles. Based on that, waves of beginning professionals emerge, which end up adhering to a "trending" career, without necessarily being aligned with the individual profile of each woman. Our mentoring program aims to guide women in our community in discovering their professional affinities and building an action plan to develop in the profession, making them able to establish themselves and grow in the industry.
