Every country in the world is able to create another Miss Lambe Hoax. How could this happen?Every society in the world must have a person/mascot that unique, popular and have a good reputation based on local and cultural approach. By using that person/mascot to deliver information, hopefully the society in a country will be more interested and aware. The information that is delivered will permeated and implemented more effectively.
Sustainability
The positive internet content especially content that can be referred by society to deal with hoax/disinformation is a must in this digital information and post truth era. The society must have to be able to confirm any issue whether it is a fact or not. Every country in the world dealing with this kind of problem. Based on that needs, MCIT creates a channel to publish information that are confirming hoax/disinformation. The character of netizen dominated with millennial generation, like to get the information faster by using audio-visual. They don’t like to get the information seriously. The counter hoax program with millennial approach will be needed by all stakeholders, whether as a government, NGO’s and society that really concern to providing a positive content and fight against hoax. As long as hoax and disinformation still exist, this kind of program is needed.
WSIS values promotion
This project becomes a pilot project especially in how to spread information about counter hoax/disinformation to society through social media. With almost 160 billion social media users Indonesia, the project have a good opportunity to reach society.
