Technology applied to sport

Description

The ULP Arturo Rodríguez Jurado Open Campus has, since September 2018, its own biomechanics laboratory, whose purpose is the constant and continuous evaluation of athletes belonging to the institution and to the different federations of the province. It has national and international equipment that allows the execution of comprehensive and high quality protocols, aimed at improving the health and performance of medium and high performance athletes. They can be evaluated and increase their performance, without the need to move hundreds of kilometers or pay high costs for the execution of tests of similar characteristics.
This sports complex located within the University of the Punta has to develop their projects and that they can be executed optimally, with high-speed Internet connection that allows taking measurements, process information and share it quickly and efficiently.
Also noteworthy is the inclusion policy carried out by this institution, allowing more than 920 athletes of different ages and both genders to have carried out first level evaluations free of charge.

San Luis is a digital state, connectivity is free throughout its provincial territory. Its main indicators are: ● + 95% internet penetration connecting all locations from 20 inhabitants (places, towns and cities). ● +1,546 wifi antennas (wifi.sanluis.gov.ar) where more than 97% are connected by fiber optic to the “Information Highway” network. ● +4,500 km of urban (1,100) and interurban (3400) fiber optic. ● Backbone with the best technology which is currently available, that serves as the backbone of the communications network in San Luis province, and that could support 50% of Argentina's current Internet traffic. ● 25 Mbps average connection speed in San Luis homes, that connect to the world's largest free public Wi-Fi network. ● +165,000 NFC devices delivered free to children, retirees, teachers, health and safety personnel. ● 40 locations with FTTx technology that allows speeds of 1Gbps at any point of connection to the “Information Highway” network. ● +3,000 indoor wifi antennas with fiber optic connection in the fields of education, health, safety and public administration of the provincial state. ● +300 dedicated telecommunications services that strengthen industrial, agricultural, livestock, services and tourism sectors in the province. All of the above described, optimizes the process of sports evaluations carried out in the biomechanics laboratory, also allows the reduction, even the elimination, of many obstacles related to time, distance and access to be evaluated, enhancing the benefits for the entire provincial sports community. We believe that science plays a leading role in the progress of humanity, so we commit ourselves to generate scientific knowledge with the database obtained in the evaluations, with the purpose of promoting the continuous evolution in the sports field.
