Indonesia, as a developing country, faces the same problem as other developing countries in terms of maternal and child health, with lagging key health indicators and under resourced health systems. Because of those problems, it is necessary to monitor and guide a pregnant woman and a child in growing phase to control their health. Sahabat Bunda (A Mom’s Best Friend) is a new solution for those problems. By using ICT, Sahabat Bunda helps digitizing the medical recording and reporting process and save more time in gathering maternal data. This helps to monitor pregnancy and child’s health growth more easily and efficiently.

This project is replicable as it does not require physical resources and only requires internet access for the user to find the information needed. Further, it is also replicable and customizable for different areas as the general framework can be used for different languages or specific local content
Sahabat Bunda has a high degree of sustainability as it does not require a large upkeep effort, both financially and operationally. The system is self sustaining in terms of operations, and only require sufficient server capacity provided. In terms of currency of information, this will depend on the primary stakeholder giving the data.
By using ICT, Sahabat Bunda helps digitizing the medical recording and reporting process and save more time in gathering maternal data. This helps to monitor pregnancy and child’s health growth more easily and efficiently.
