Nossas Cidades is a Brazilian organization that promotes civic engagement through technological and methodological activism tools. Nossas has pioneered the production of technology with activism-centered products and uses these platforms to connect people and their causes towards building pressure campaigns. In May 2016, Nossas built the Mapa do Acolhimento (roughly translated to Safe Haven Map), an innovative project aiming to bring together women in response to sexual violence, a current and recurring issue in Brazilian society. The main objective of the Mapa do Acolhimento is to provide a collaborative safety network for victims of sexual violence around the country. Volunteer therapists were matched with victims of sexual violence, offering free mental health services all over the country. Thousand of volunteers also rated Brazil's publicly available services, producing the country's first-ever map of publicly or freely available mental health services for sexual violence survivors.
