The aim of AALUIS is to facilitate theconnection of different services to differenttypes of user interfaces and thusto enable future users of AAL systemsto use more services interacting in theirpreferred wayThe user interface (UI) is an importantfeature of interaction between the humanand the machine (services). Thus, the main focus of the project lies onthe development of innovative UIs anda layer for the easy and standardizedintegration of new and existing UIs. Theaim is to build these interfaces and theconnection layer on open and alreadyexisting middleware platforms. At the end of the project a frameworkwill be provided with a set of user descriptionsand suitable user profile settingsfor the user interaction, new userinterfaces with adaptation possibilitiesbased on user profiles, the open sourceAALUIS user interface layer where thoseand other user interfaces can be connectedto and a set of AAL Services.AALUIS aims to significantly contributeto the freedom of choice for end-usersof services and users interfaces. Thiswill help to support de-stigmatization ofcare products and put them on a selfservecontinuum from ‘Comfort to Careto Cure’.
