Tibet area's compulsory education weak school informatization project


Description

The Tibet area is sparsely populated, the degree of informatization is relatively backward, the conditions are arduous, and the educational resources are short, especially the pre-school education level and resources, which greatly lags behind the local development. Entrusted by the Tibetan Government and funded by the Finance Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region, China Mobile Quantong System Integration Co., Ltd. and China Mobile Communications Group Tibet Co., Ltd.constructed an informationization project for the compulsory education weak schools in the Tibet Autonomous Region. The core goal of the project is “three links and two platforms”, which aims to realize the deep integration of information technology and education resources, and steadily promote the construction of broadband networks, digital education resources and network learning spaces of rural schools in the Tibet Autonomous Region. Through the construction of interactive whiteboard multimedia classrooms, interactive projection multimedia classroom and fully automatic recording classroom, the project helped improve the local backward teaching status, gradually improve the construction of rural school information infrastructure and continuously improve the educational information application level, so that teachers and students in rural areas can share qualified digital education resources easily.

Replicability

The final objective of this project is to cover 78 primary and secondary schools of 7 cities, 25 counties.
The project has built 616 sets of interactive whiteboard multimedia classrooms and 112 sets of interactive projection multimedia classrooms. It has built 34 multimedia classrooms with 50 seats and 37 multimedia classrooms with 30 seats which involving 7 cities, 25 districts and 78 schools in the whole district. More than 5,000 students have benefited and greatly improved the informationization education of weak schools.


Sustainability

We have built public service platforms for education resources and education management, and strive to achieve four new breakthroughs, which are new breakthroughs in the construction of educational information infrastructure, new breakthroughs in the construction and sharing of high-qualified digital education resources, new breakthroughs in the integration of information technology and education, and new breakthroughs in the development mechanism of educational information science.
Comprehensively improve the basic education conditions for schools running with weak compulsory education resources in poverty-stricken areas, coordinate the allocation of urban and rural compulsory education resources, and accelerate the speed of narrowing regional and urban-rural education gaps.
Through the construction of modern multimedia classrooms, the transformation of the role of teachers, the role of the media and the teaching process can be realized to initially establish a new type of education and teaching system.


WSIS values promotion

Starting from 2016, we aimed to improve the basic conditions for schools running nationwide, narrow the education gap between rural and urban areas, gradually improve the construction of information infrastructure in rural schools and the application level of educational informatization, so that teachers and students in rural areas can easily share high-qualified digital education resources, more teachers can devote to the education in remote areas, children in remote areas can enjoy the same educational resources as children in the city, so that to improve their interest in learning.
