Scientists 3.0 seeks to use low-cost scientific tools that expand access to science and share the experience with all students in the province. Convinced that in San Luis each student must carry a microscope in his pocket, the initiative manages to break the price barrier between people and the curiosity and excitement of scientific exploration. Therefore, we are distributing Foldscopes, a folding microscope created by the University of Stanford made mainly in paper, for students and teachers of all primary and secondary schools of the province. Under the premise that the only way to learn science is through experimentation, the government seeks that all students and teachers, both from the Capital and the rest of the province, can acquire and use a pocket microscope to take samples and investigate at any time and location. The Foldscope allows students to see from a cell or a mosquito. After a teacher training, the distribution of the Foldscope has the following objectives:That student know about nature, and thus that they are able to investigate through experimentation.Stimulate the development of science in the farthest places of the province.Encourage their use in primary and secondary schools about the value of science in the progress of man.We also intend to make children see science more as a game than as an imposition.

The development and success of this initiative in San Luis is the result of the political decision to invest heavily, during the last 20 years, in infrastructure, connectivity, and in facilitating access to devices for the population, as well as training. This initiative is replicable successfully only in this context.
Digital Inclusion as a Fundamental Human Right, a commitment assumed by the Government of San Luis and embodied in the Provincial Constitution in 2011, guarantees the continued investment of public resources towards a more inclusive, digitized and innovative society.
