WSIS Prizes Contest 2019 Nominee

Girl Boss

Description

GirlBoss New Zealand was founded with a single mission: to close the gender gap in Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths, Entrepreneurship and Leadership.
We empower confident, resilient, future-ready, young women to lead and change the world.
GirlBoss collaborates with industries to equip young women with relevant skills. Currently in schools Digital Technology is often taught by teachers with little experience in the constantly-evolving Technology industry resulting in skills taught being out of date and not-in-line with industry. GirlBoss Coding Classes are supported by Xero (a New Zealand tech business who provide teachers, venues and devices) meaning attendees get access to real-life software engineers.
