As part of its mission, mHub runs a programme to introduce computer skills to children between ages of 6 to 17. The course is carried out at mHub premises in Lilongwe every Tuesday and Thursday. The children are taught coding skills using programming tools that were specially designed for the purpose teaching children and also to make the development of basic application easy for them. Currently the training uses MIT Scratch and Snapp.Scratch is a visual programming language. The language is used by students, scholars, teachers, and parents to easily create games and provide a stepping stone to the more advanced world of computer programming. It can also be used for a range of educational and entertainment purposes from math and science projects, including simulations and visualizations of experiments, recording lectures with animated presentations, to social sciences animated stories, and interactive art and music. Interacting with Scratch will help children to develop skills that can be applied in different areas of their study.
