At HearColors we are convinced that information and communication technologies empower persons with disabilities and are a necessary tool to improve their quality of life.Digital inclusion is directly related to accessible digital content. Nevertheless developers, designers and digital content creators have never heard of web content accessibility standards and hence do not develop or create accessible content and websites for persons with disabilities. There are more than 1 billion persons with disability in the world that can navigate on internet thanks to the existence of free assistive technologies. These persons can boost their social and economical development by been included in the digital economy. Today 9 out of 10 websites in the world are not accessible. We have created 2 digital accessibility seminars where developers, designers and content creators will learn about accessibility standards and will have the necessary tools to develop content accessible websites. Many government, as the Mexican government, have regulations obliging government websites to be accesible. These laws are impossible to implement if there are no capabilities and that is why we are training government officials and government vendors in web content accessibility. But ""nothing about us without us"" persons with disabilities need also to learn how to use the internet and use assistive technologies and that is why 40% of the funds raised by these seminars are reinvested in a program that we and our partners have developed that teaches persons with different disabilities to use internet. There will always be new government officials and new developers and vendors that will need the skill of web accessibility therefore our program of enhancing capabilities among persons with disabilities will always have funds and as a result more and more websites will be accesible.

We are scaling the project by opening web accessibility labs two other main Mexican cities. With the Mexican government we are planing to give 432 seminars in the 32 Mexican states in 2017 we want to create capabilities among 600 developers and designers and have funds to teach 500 persons with disabilities to use internet. We expect the number of accessible websites to increase and really have an impact in digital inclusion.
At HearColors we are convinced that information and communication technologies empower persons with disabilities and are a necessary tool to improve their quality of life.
