Network and Security Infrastructure for Jouf University


Description

Since Jouf University covers an estimated area of 100,212 km², it is a major challenge to provide and maintain IT services with high availability in a cost effective manner. The main objective of this programme is to implement a new robust network and security infrastructure with high performance and availability in order to provide e-Services for the university staff and students. It consists of several sub-projects.
- Core Network which aggregates all university building network and connects all servers.
- Local new buildings network.
- Local fiber connections between the main DC (Data Center) and the university campus buildings.
- Fiber connection between the Main DC and the secondary DC (40 Km).
- Wimax connection between the Main DC and the secondary DC (40 Km).
- IPVN connections between the Main DC and the university branches in Sakaka (40Km), Tabarjal (250 Km) and Gurayat (400 Km).
- Security Infrastructure for securing access to the university e-Services.
- Internet connection with redundancy and high availability.
Using this infrastructure, the university staff and students can access any services (VDI, Portal, IP telephony, Video Conferencing, eLearning Platform, ERP, …) that enhance the educational environment.
