#Hackeuses

Description

Simplon.co is a network of training centers in France and abroad which trains without fees people coming from underprivileged areas in digital technological jobs. Simplon.co makes a commitment in favour of parity in the digital technology sector ,which is marked by a strong under-representation of women: indeed, women represent only 33 % of the salaried staff in the digital technology sector, and less than 20 % in technical jobs, against 53 % in all sectors (source: Syntec Numérique, 2016). From this perspective, we built a program call #Hackeuses in order to raise awareness and guide more women towards the digital technology sector. Our program has three main axes: communication and advocacy, company awareness, training and pre-qualification. Communication and Pitch We lead diverse actions to mobilize our network around the subject of gender equality in tech. Targeted audience : Simplon.co’s network of partners The general public.

Replicability

Simplon.co has a network of training centers in France and abroad. Our objective for 2018 is to deploy our program #Hackeuses both in France and internationally. Communication and plea We seek, by our actions, events, calls to projects, editorial support and videos to contribute to changing the representation of women in tech and help them have a greater representation. In 2019 we plan to mobilize the entire Simplon training network on International Women’s day to support the project #Makeuses at the national level. Acculturation in companies : We have already collaborated with a large French company and we are growing the program throughout Ile-de-France (the greater Paris region).
The pilot initiative will be tested in September 2018 in partnership with an IT service. We want to increase parity at all levels : Familiarize managers with the importance of gender equality while also increasing the number of women in the application process and training programs. Finally, we also want to ensure that women feel comfortable and welcome within IT departments. Our goal is to experiment with a new training program in 2019 so that we can later incorporate this program into our network worldwide. Training Our programs Kids and #Hackeuses continue to grow in France and abroad. -> Three editions of #Hackeuses have already been completed in France -> One edition coming soon in Ivory Coast -> Two editions coming soon in France -> The program Kids is already present in all our structures in France and we are exporting it with the #Hackeuses program.

Sustainability

We want to ensure that women feel comfortable and welcome within IT departments. Our goal is to experiment with a new training program in 2019 so that we can later incorporate this program into our network worldwide.
