Females Excelling More in Math, Engineering, and Science -- FEMMES -- is a student run organization at the University of Chicago. Our mission is to help close the gender gap in Tech by presenting CS and Tech to middle school girls in our local neighbourhood. We hope to expand our CS and Tech focus to encompass larger categories of STEM by making CS and Tech the lens to see other traditional sciences through. We cater to the female middle school population on the South Side of Chicago, one of the least funded neighbourhoods in Chicago.
