Project Details

GP4Tech

Description

GP4Tech is a project that raised from a group of female software engineers in Jalasoft (the most big company of Software in Bolivia). Jalasoft is a part of Jala group, and another project besides Jalasoft, we have Jala Foundation which has as main objective educate the students that comes from the university or even school and prepare them for a real work environment. We started with 15 women involved. The idea was share knowledge, and motivates the participation of the girls in technology. Once we saw that we have few women in the technical area not only in the job but also in the university, we decided to work with girls of last years of the school. We asked ourselves, How can we do in order to motive to these young ladies to choose a career related to technology? We can provide them a female strong role to follow, and show them that there are women in tech that have fun and enjoying this. So we have the Jala Foundation that is working with more than 30 schools, and we took that advantage in order to invite to the students of these schools, and also invite outside students to talks about technology, and we have games/activities in order to show how fun are the areas related to STEM.
