Girls Make Apps

Description

Girls Make Apps is a national nonprofit organization based in the United States that has taught hundreds of girls to code through free workshops, programs, and hackathons. Girls Make Apps major objective is to provide a positive first experience in tech to the girls and women in their programs and they have achieved this through a number of different ways. The many initiatives Girls Make Apps has conducted over the past two years can be broken into three different categories: workshops (usually short-term crash courses in a technical subject like machine learning or virtual reality), programs (longer multi-week experiences with the goal of project ideation and creation), and hackathons (24-hour programming competitions that combine the workshop and product creation experiences).
