Enabled to Enable/ Computer/ICT Literacy unit


Description

Enabled to Enable is a non-governmental organization in care and support vulnerable women and girls, especially those living with disabilities. They empower women and girls with disabilities, other vulnerable women and children, through advocacy, training programs and the provision of support services to enable them contribute meaningfully to their immediate and global development. They envision an egalitarian society void of any form of discrimination/limitation against women and girls with disabilities, other vulnerable women and children where their rights to life are protected and respected. an egalitarian society void of any form of discrimination/limitation against women and girls with disabilities, other vulnerable women and children where their rights to life are protected and respected.
So far, the organization has registered and commenced training for about 90 beneficiaries, which exceeds the target of 50 beneficiaries in the first month only. As a result of the training, especially the computer literacy training, about 40 women and girls now understand what they are capable of accomplishing with a Computer. They are not just more confident but also more critical and creative when faced with any computing problem.

Replicability

This work has been replicated and upscaled. It first started in Always Ibom State for just 200 women and girls, and didn't include any Computing/ICT trainin unit. Today, the organization has moved to Cross River State and not only upscaled the number of beneficiaries to 500 (450 women and girls, 50 boys), but with help and support from various sources, have been able to add an ICT Literacy unit to the project.
